Gun in a Well
Gun in a Well is an action roguelike where the only way to dodge is to shoot. Jump around using recoil, kill enemies with bullets, destroy them with electricity or burn them to crisp. Manage health and ammo, choose your upgrades, break the game and reach the bottom of the well!

amazing game! The playability was nice, fleshed out concept, fairly polished game. Well done!
Thank you! :)
I got pretty far! I can't continue further, so... I think I won?
Very reminiscent of Downwell, but I like how you simplified the game even further. (With the dual mechanics and all, just removing the person character altogether and just being a gun. It's pretty funny.)
As others have pointed out, I could go out of bounds and that made it pretty easy. But also, the Rogue upgrade seemed to be disadvantageous period. Perhaps it's good at the beginning, but I really decreases your killing capabilities at the very end.
Fun game!
I'm sure you've been requested to play many other games, but CTRL ALT Defeat is one my friends made. You should check it out!
Downwell was one of the inspirations in terms of looks and vibes! As for the rogue upgrade - the enemies at <0m where supposed to be quickly kill the player and not really be part of the game ๐ But I might leave as I think people are enjoying absolutely destroying enemies at the end!
Thanks, I will check out the CTRL ALT Defeat!
Wow, it feels very nice and polished. The gravity and recoil physics felt so natural. I would prefer a warning sign before full-size walls in my opinion. Great game!
Thanks! I'm not exactly sure what do you mean by "full-size walls" though ๐
I mean the red ones you cannot pass without shooting and no open spot to dodge
Ah yeah, fair point
I managed to cross the left barrier for a moment, other than that really cool game i like the concept.
Thank you! Yeah, this issue sometimes happens I wasn't able to fix it in time ๐
Very fun! I loved the game Downwell and this is very reminiscent in the best ways :)
That was definitely one of the inspirations!
Wow, really creative use of the mechanic! Really fun and solid aesthetics.
Thank you, I'm happy that you liked the aesthetic as it's pretty cheap ๐
Really enjoyed this !!
<3
Please keep working on this after the jam!
That's the plan so far!
Hey! I've actually created a steam page for the development of this game! So you want to keep following it, you can wishlist it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3509950/Gun_in_a_Well/
Loved it. Self-destructing through the negative levels with survivalist + scavenger was very amusing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Huge props! Was very enjoyable :)
Thanks!
Wow good work this game was really fun
Thanks for playing!
The first few stages are very fun and challenging, after that it gets kinda broken if you pick the right upgrades.
With high enough firerate / insta reload it's possible to clip through the walls and just descend safely to the shop. I did that to reach -814 meters and could not progress further as the shop ran out of upgrades ๐คฃ
I did really enjoy reaching the 0m mark though ๐
> I did that to reach -814 meters
As far as I know, that a world record! :P (thanks for letting me know, I will try to fix it)
Thanks for playing!
I only got -694m. I guess I just have a skill issue.
Some Assets don't render (firefox on linux) ;(. Otherwise, the gameplay was easy to pick up and I enjoyed a few runs.
Thanks for playing!
Not sure what's causing the rendering issue :c, it works on win11 firefox, but I will look into it.
